Abstract: In this talk, we start by reviewing the inverse Galois problem in its classical form. We then discuss how this problem can be extended to the context of Hilbert p-class field towers. Finally, we present a recent result obtained in collaboration with Maire, in which we address the inverse Galois problem for Hilbert p-class field towers with splitting at a finite set S of prime ideals. This work generalizes a result previously established by Hajir, Maire and Ramakrishna.
